SK Innovation To Use Honeywell Technology For Carbon Capture And Sequestration Feasibility Study:
Honeywell announced today SK Innovation and Energy, a Korea-based energy refining company, has selected Honeywell UOP for a feasibility study to retrofit SK’s hydrogen plant with carbon capture. SK will explore capturing and sequestering 400,000 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) from existing hydrogen production assets at its refinery in Ulsan, Korea. The CO2 will be re-injected into depleted natural gas reservoirs, beginning in 2026.
